A shed of Blood: Act V

Example 1:


....Yet who would have thought the old man
to have had so much blood in him?


Lady Macbeth- Act V, Scene 1




Summary: when Lady Macbeth is saying this, she is in the process of sleep walking and what she means by this quote is that she is trying to get the blood off of her hands in her dream and asks Macbeth if he is afraid of being caught for killing Banquo. She also says that no one wouldn't of known how messy the killing would of been.

Comment: In this case "blood" refers to Banquo's blood when he is killed and how messy the whole killing was.


Example 2: 


Seyton! - I am sick at heart
When I behold- Seyton, I say! - This push
Will cheer me ever or disseat me now...


Macbeth- Act V, Scene 3




Summary:  Macbeth is telling Seyton that he is sick to his stomach because he doesn't know if he will win the battle or loose it and not be king anymore

Comment: In this case, "blood" refers to how bad Macbeth feels, portrayed by when he says, "I am sick at heart".
