Act III, Scene 1- Macbeth


Summary: Macbeth is saying that the princes, who he thinks are murderers, are hiding in England and Ireland and will not confess to the killing of their father.

Comment: In this case, "blood" means "evil". The idea that if you are bloody means that you are bad and up to no good.

Act III, Scene 1- Macbeth


Summary: Macbeth is expressing how much he hates him and believes that since he is king, he can use his power to get rid of Banquo.

Comment: In this case, "blood" means "hate". When Macbeth says, "and in such bloody distance", he is expressing how much he hates Banquo.
